Frutigen is located in the Bernese Oberland and stretches between Gehrihorn and Niesen chain. The village, consisting of 8 parts, is located in the Kander and Engstligen valleys. One of the longest pedestrian suspension bridges in all of Europe spans the Engstligen valley. Frutigen has a total population of about 7000 people.
