The Rhaetian Railway has been part of Graubünden since 1889 and since then it is impossible to imagine one of the most diverse landscapes in Switzerland without it.

With its spectacular viaducts and tunnels, the railroad lines blend harmoniously into the wild nature of the Grisons. Thus, every trip with the Alpine Railway becomes a unique railroad experience. Rhaetian Railway round trip in Engadine steam adventure train

Discover the Engadine with the Heidi steam locomotive: from St. Moritz, Pontresina or Samedan you will experience a piece of Swiss railroad history up close on this trip. Pure nostalgia awaits you on the approx. 3-hour journey with the adventure train through the wintry Engadine

You decide where you get on. The triangular trip even takes you as far as S-Chanf in the Val Trupchun, one of the most wildlife-rich valleys in Europe. This eventful round trip in January and February combines culture, history, nature and nostalgia like no other.

Adventure train Rhine Gorge Rhaetian Railway

The Ruinaulta is an approximately 13 km long and up to 400 m deep gorge of the Rhine. It is not without reason that this impressive natural phenomenon is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can admire it from the steam train in September. On the journey through the autumnal Grisons, you will travel from Landquart through the monumental Rhine Gorge between Reichenau and Ilanz. Then the journey continues by steam train, past Conn and via Trun in the direction of Disentis/Mustér

There you will have a longer stay, where you can stretch your legs and explore the village of Disentis. In the afternoon you will start your return journey in the historic train composition of the Rhaetian Railway. The steam trip can be booked one way or return. No matter which option you choose, this tour is one breathtaking experience after another.

Rhaetian Railway Experience Train Glacier Land with Linard Bardill from St. Moritz

Mountains, tunnels, viaducts and locomotives - this is the fascinating world of Clà Ferrovia. The character was penned by the Grisons singer-songwriter Linard Bardill and is the children's conductor of the Rhaetian Railways. On this approx. 4-hour round trip with the Bernina Railway, you will go in search of Grummo the Giant

Grummo lives in the glacier country and is 10'000 years old! On the way with Clà, you will sing and make things on this trip in July and hear many an exciting story. Get ready for an exciting day in the Engadine mountains. Start from St. Moritz or Pontresina and look forward to a great experience for the whole family.

Clà Ferrovia even has its own app. This comes in the form of a digital scavenger hunt, with which you can collect Clà points and win great prizes. Hidden throughout the Rhaetian Railway network are destinations with puzzles, tasks and fun games. Be sure to give the app a try and use it to turn the Grisons region upside down.

Rhaetian Railway Adventure Train Farbenland with Linard Bardill from Chur

On this trip you will dive into the world of Clà Ferrovia - the children's conductor from Linard Bardill's pen. Together with Clà and the singer-songwriter Bardill, you will explore the land of colors in the Engadine mountains on the steam locomotive in September

On the all-day adventure trip from Chur or Landquart, you will sing, play and do handicrafts. Listen to Clà's stories about the railroad and his adventurous life. Together with your family or friends, accompanied by Clà and Linard, go on a journey to the land of colors. An autumnal adventure for the "short" and the "long".

Rhaetian Railway Experience Train Lichterland with Linard Bardill from Chur

Travel by steam train through snow-covered landscapes to fairy-tale, Christmassy places. You will be accompanied on this tour from Chur by Clà Ferovia and his friend Linard Bardill. On the way, Advent songs rehearsed together will fill the train carriages with Christmas spirit.

The adventure trip with the steam train will take you to the land of lights, where a very special Advent light will glow. Rhaetian Railway Adventure Train Davos Round Trip

Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of the steam age. Let yourself be enchanted by the nostalgia, the unique smell and the shining metal of the locomotive as well as the play of the mechanics. This full-day trip takes you from Landquart via Klosters to Davos, where you can explore the beautiful Alpine town on foot

Then it's on to Filisur and via Chur back to Landquart. On the way back you will cross the famous Landwasser Viaduct by locomotive. The railroad bridge is 65 m high and 136 m long - and is considered a landmark of the Rhaetian Railway

Rhaetian Railway Adventure Train Engadin Albula from Samedan

On this full-day journey you will travel through the wide plains of the autumnal Engadine. From Samedan you will travel through the beautiful Albula Valley to Surava and back. On the way there will be breaks in Filisur and Bergün, giving you time to explore the two pretty villages

Rhaetian Railway Engadine Adventure Train between Samedan and Scuol

Pure nostalgia awaits you on this unique adventure trip through the wintery Engadine. The steam train takes you to Scuol-Tarasp as well as to the sunny village of Samedan. Both places make the hearts of winter sports enthusiasts and nature lovers beat faster. Reaching them in winter by steam train is a very special pleasure. The steam train also stops in S-chanf, Zernez and Ardez on the way. You decide in which direction you travel - or if even there and back
