The Gotthard Panorama Express takes you either from Lucerne to Lugano or from Lugano to Lucerne. You travel across Lake Lucerne by steamboat or motorboat.

Between Flüelen and Lugano the train runs with extra large panorama windows. The panorama train travels along the historic railroad line between Central Switzerland and Ticino. This includes various helical tunnels up to Göschenen and on through the old Gotthard tunnel to Airolo.

On the train and on the ship, you can indulge in culinary delights. The menu includes Swiss dishes and drinks.

Your Gotthard Panorama Express ticket is also an SBB Saver Day Pass and valid in 1st class. It is therefore valid on the entire Swiss public transport network. This means that not only the panoramic route, but also your journey to and from Lugano or Lucerne is included in the ticket price.

The SBB Saver Day Pass is cheaper the further in advance you book. This means you can save a lot of money, especially if you book early. When a price of the Saver Day Pass is sold out for one day, the next cheapest price becomes available. This is the reason why the prices vary depending on the day.

- The panorama train is not wheelchair accessible. It has neither wheelchair compartments nor wheelchair-accessible toilets
- Boarding and disembarking is only possible at the stops Arth-Goldau, Flüelen, Bellinzona and Lugano.
- Passengers with reduced mobility are seated in normal seats, independent boarding and disembarking must be possible or wheelchair is less than 620 mm wide.
- On the ship, boarding and disembarking with wheelchairs is possible without any problems.
- Wheelchair-accessible toilets are available on the ship and in Arth-Goldau, Flüelen (track 1), Bellinzona and Lugano.
