Triesenberg lies high above the Rhine Valley and is the largest municipality in the Principality of Liechtenstein. It originated in the 13th/14th century from a Walser settlement and also includes an exclave. The small chapel on Masescha dates back to this time. The region at 1600 m above sea level is a popular vacation destination for those who enjoy breathtaking nature and sporting activities. In the winter months, the Triesenberg-Malbun ski area is one of the most snow-sure in the northern Alps. Here, skiers, cross-country skiers, and sledding enthusiasts get their money's worth. In summer there are gigantic mountain bike trails and beautiful hiking tours. In addition, visitors will find a wide range of leisure activities with tennis courts, archery and much more.
