Sion

Sion, or Sitten in German, is located in the Valais at the mouth of the Sionne River on the Rhone. It is the city in Switzerland with the most hours of sunshine. The long history of settlement begins as early as the Stone Age and comes alive on a tour of the museums. The pretty old town also features buildings and numerous monuments from different eras.
