Funicular Monte Brè Ticket from Lugano Cassarate

The funicular takes you from Lugano Cassarate in 14 minutes over two sections to Monte Brè. At the top, wonderful views of Lake Lugano and the surrounding mountains await you.

Easy to difficult hiking trails are available in an extensive hiking trail network. Bicycles are transported exclusively in the 2nd section.

Section 1:

• Bottom station: Lugano Cassarate
• Top station: Suvigliana
• The train holds max. 30 people and runs continuously between 7:00 and 21:00 every 15 min.

Section 2:

• Bottom station: Suvigliana
• Intermediate stations: Albonago - Aldesago - Brè Villaggio
• Top station: Monte Brè
• The cable car holds a maximum of 68 passengers and runs continuously between 9:00 and 17:00 every 30 min. In summer, the operating time is extended in the evening.

Practical information:

• Strollers: folded or closed baby carriages and strollers are transported free of charge. They must fit through the turnstile at the entrance and exit.
• Wheelchairs cannot be transported.
• Small dogs (up to a maximum of 30 cm instep height) travel free of charge in a suitable container (basket or bag) without their own seat
• Bicycles are carried only in section 2 (subject to charge), but must not be heavily soiled.
• There are only a few parking spaces at the Lugano Cassarate valley station. It is advisable to arrive by public transport (bus lines 2 and 12 TPL).

Monte Brè is located east of Lugano. It lies at 925 meters above sea level and is considered the sunniest mountain in Switzerland. As a panoramic mountain, it offers a view of Lake Lugano with the bay of Lugano. All around, the mountains of the Bernese and Valais Alps can be seen. Like Monte San Salvatore, Monte Brè is a local mountain of Lugano. The extensive network of hiking trails offers paths of all levels of difficulty.
