Thunderstorms are very dangerous for balloon flights. Since a balloon only reaches low speeds, it is at the mercy of a thunderstorm. So as soon as thunderclouds build up, the balloon flight is canceled. Strong high altitude winds do not bother a balloon, but strong ground winds can prevent a launch or make a landing very difficult. In the event of heavy fog (especially in lake areas), an attempt will be made to divert to another route. Cloudy weather would not be a problem for the balloon flight, but it takes away from the enjoyment of the view. Therefore, even in the case of heavy cloud cover, a planned balloon flight will be postponed.
