Find your perfect train ticket for your trip to Switzerland here. Switzerland is a country that is very well connected by train. Whether it's for an experience journey, a panoramic train ride, a culinary experience or simply to get from point A to point B, a train ride in Switzerland is (almost) always associated with impressive views. Thus, a train ride serves not only as a means of transportation, but as a destination in itself. Among the most famous train rides in Switzerland are the Glacier Express, the Bernina Express, the Gotthard Panorama Express, and the Golden Pass Line.
Between which places does the Glacier Express travel?
The Glacier Express runs on the route between St. Moritz and Zermatt via Filisur-Chur-Disentis-Andermatt-Brig. It is one of the world's most famous panoramic trains. A ride on this exclusive train takes about eight hours. In our experience report about the [Glacier Express](https://www.swissactivities.com/en-ch/valais-region/zermatt/glacier-express-review/) you can learn more about the journey with the "slowest express train in the world".
On which route does the Bernina Express run?
The Bernina Express runs between Chur, St. Moritz and Tirano in Italy. In summer, the Bernina Bus with panoramic windows also runs between Tirano and Lugano. The Bernina Express runs without interruption throughout the year.
Where does the Gotthard Panorama Express run?
The Gotthard Panorama Express consists of two parts: a trip by steamboat between Lucerne and Flüelen and a train ride through the Gotthard summit tunnel in the panorama train.
This tunnel was already put into operation in 1882 between Göschenen (north portal) and Airolo (south portal). At that time, with a length of 15 km, it was the longest railroad tunnel in the world. Until the opening of the Gotthard Base Tunnel in summer 2016, it was the main connection between Ticino and Switzerland north of the Alps
Between which stations does the Golden Pass Line run?
The Golden Pass Line operates between Lucerne and Montreux. The Lucerne-Interlaken Express runs between Lucerne and Interlaken. From Interlaken, the journey continues via Spiez and Zweisimmen to Montreux on Lake Geneva.
