Lake Geneva region
In the middle of the Lake Geneva region, the canton of Vaud stretches from the Jura to the Vaud Alps. This region is primarily known for one thing: wine. With the wine-growing region of Lavaux, the region is home to another UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is not only a destination for wine lovers. Other highlights in the region include the student city of Lausanne, Montreux with Chateau Chillon and a boat trip on Lake Geneva, Europe's second largest inland lake.
