Marmot Trail hiking ticket from Grindelwald

Your summer excursion with the Marmot Trail hiking ticket has three stages:

1st stage: Bus ride from Grindelwald to Grosse Scheidegg

You board the GrindelwaldBus at Grindelwald station and travel to Grosse Scheidegg (1962 m above sea level). The bus takes about 34 minutes for this route.

2nd stage: Marmot trail hike

Your hike begins here, leading via Grindelwald First and along Bachalpsee and Bachläger to Waldspitz. From Grosse Scheidegg, you hike with easy ups and downs to Grindelwald First. You have a wonderful view of the mighty Eigerwand as well as the Schreckhorn and Finsteraarhorn.

You then come to Bachalpsee, where you can admire the reflection of the mighty mountains in the crystal-clear water. You continue in a south-easterly direction and pass through moorland. You pass small mountain streams on the way to Bachläger and Waldspitz.

3rd stage: bus ride Waldspitz to Grindelwald

The bus ride back to Grindelwald station takes 30 min.

The marmot trail includes a pretty barbecue area with marmot benches at Oberläger. On the way to First, you will pass information boards and a number of carved marmots. The highlight is a photo wall where you and your family can have your picture taken with the Munggi family.

• Small dogs up to 30 cm are free of charge if they remain in a transport container for the entire journey. This must be pushed under your seat.
• Dogs without a container and all dogs over 30 cm shoulder height require a valid dog ticket: half the price of 2nd class or the minimum fare (Dog Day Pass, Dog Pass). They must sit under the seat so that the passageway is not blocked for other passengers.
