The House of Läderach opened its doors in November 2020 and offers a variety of activities and attractions to delight young and old alike.

The secrets of chocolate making

At the House of Läderach, an interactive tour takes visitors through various themed areas. Interesting facts about the history of the company are shared along the way. Here you will also learn how to enjoy and taste chocolate with all five senses. In the second part of the tour, you will learn how delicious chocolate is made from cocoa beans in a 30-minute guided tour. You will see how Läderach maintains the exceptional freshness and quality of the chocolate. A special highlight of the tour is a visit to a chocolate fountain, where you can taste three different types of chocolate. At the end of the tour, the guide will reveal the secret of Läderach's unique freshness. You can take part in factory tours in various combinations: With and without the Chocolate Museum and with and without a chocolate course in the Walk-In Atelier. Extensive tastings of the delicious chocolate are always included.

Chocolate courses

The chocolate courses vary with different offers. You have the opportunity to cast and decorate a figurine from liquid chocolate yourself. Or you can visit the walk-in studio. Here you can choose the shape and type of chocolate yourself with a chocolatier. There are nine fine ingredients to choose from. You then cool them in a mold in the cooling tunnel and decorate and package them yourself. Advance booking is not required.

Events for children

You can plan a fun children's birthday party in chocolate paradise in various ways at the House of Läderach. Chocolate always plays a major role and the children can have a wonderful snack - and not just at the chocolate fountain.

Factory outlet and café in the House of Läderach

The House of Läderach has a factory outlet with a special surprise: the world's largest fresh chocolate counter with over 20 delicious varieties.

Visitors are invited to enjoy free samples and discover their favorite varieties. The large chocolate bars are produced daily in Switzerland and delivered to Läderach chocolateries around the world within a few days. There they are individually broken into pieces at the counter according to the customer's wishes.

Chocolate lovers can also discover Läderach's diverse range in the store. This includes pralines, truffles, airy mini mousses and other sweet temptations. You can buy them all at attractive prices.

Läderach is particularly well known for its broken chocolate. Fruit, nuts, corn flakes and other ingredients are generously integrated into the chocolate.

The House of Läderach concept is rounded off by a stylish café. Here, visitors can enjoy a homemade patisserie creation, an exceptional cocoa drink in typical Läderach style and many other delicacies.

How to get to the House of Läderach

The House of Läderach is located in Bilten in Glarus Nord. You can easily reach it from Zurich or Schwyz. The buildings are fully wheelchair accessible.

Public transportation

From Zurich, it takes about an hour by train to Bilten. From St. Gallen you need about 90 minutes via Uznach. From Schwyz you have to change trains several times by public transport and allow at least two hours for this.

The Postbus 524 will take you directly to the factory in Bilten (Grabenstrasse stop).

By car

You can reach the chocolate factory by car from Zurich in about 45 minutes via the A3. From Schwyz you can reach Bilten in about 45 minutes via Route 14 and the A3. From St. Gallen the journey is about 20 minutes longer. Here you have the choice between the eastern route via the A1, A13 and A3 or the western route via the A1.
