Rivaz is located on the northern part of Lake Geneva in the Lavaux wine region. The village is located about 5 km west of Vevey. The small community is located on the steep slope of the vineyards on a promontory 70 m above the lake. The view of the lake is particularly beautiful here. The entire winegrowing village dates from the 17th to the 19th century. It is protected as part of Lavaux and has therefore been preserved in its original form. Popular hiking trails through the vineyards begin at the village. These include a circular route to Chexbres. Next to the Forestay waterfall, more than 300 Lavaux wines can be tasted at Vinorama. Below the village is a landing stage of the shipping company CGN SA for the line Lausanne - Vevey.
