Wildhaus - Alt St.Johann is a small village in Toggenburg. It is located at 895 m above sea level and lies northeast of Lake Walen. Alt St Johann is known for the valley station of the Sellamatt cable car. The valley station of the mountain railroad to Iltios and the Churfirsten Chäserrugg is only 300 m away in the adjacent Unterwasser. Together with the villages of Wildhaus and Unterwasser, Alt St. Johann forms a vacation area in Toggenburg, which has been awarded the "Families Welcome" seal of quality. In summer a popular starting point for hiking, in winter it opens up the skiing area Chäserrugg - Unterwasser/Alt St. Johann. Here, at 900 to 2262 m above sea level, there are 50 km of ski slopes and a 6 km long toboggan run.
